Description of Position:

Marana Group a leading provider of document management, mail assembly, mail processing, presorting, data management, digital marketing and distribution services to companies, schools, colleges and universities, health care providers, governmental entities and organizations throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe has an immediate opening for a full-time Customer Service Specialist I at our Kalamazoo, Michigan facility.

The wage for this entry level position is based on experience and is reviewable after 90-days.

All full-time positions include a full benefits package including discounted health care insurance, life insurance, and 401(k) Profit Sharing once eligibility requirements for such programs are satisfied.

Job Summary

Assists in all customer service endeavors of the organization in all Company locations and/or where Company personnel are domiciled for the service of a specific customer, and aids the Manager, Business Development in the performance of supportive tasks designed to improve Company customer service initiatives and sales.

Responsibilities and Duties, other duties may be assigned:

Prepares accurate and timely quotes for customers and prospective customers projects.

Sells services as solutions to customers and prospective customers to meet stated requirements.

Communicates with customers and prospective customers by phone, email, and other appropriate communications medium, to take orders, resolve customer complaints, assist customers, promote additional solutions, verify customer satisfaction, and promote Company goodwill.

Communicates with customers, prospective customers, and the Manger, Business Development to provide accurate and timely answers to questions, determine needs, and develop  solutions.

Greets visitors at the front door and assures secure access to the Company.

Submits quotes to Company Operations for conversion to Work Ticket job tracking document.

Communicates with customers to provide or obtain any additional information or authorizations needed and to resolve any  issues with project completion.

Maintains accurate information in Company Customer Relationship Management system.

Maintains accurate information in Company Quoting and Billing software system.

Maintains accurate information in Company customer portals.

Maintains a basic understanding of relevant USPS mailing and carrier requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Ability to use a computer with basic computer functionality; Microsoft Office programs, internet browsers applications, and file saving & retrieval skills. Ability to regularly use a computer proficiently while performing daily job functions. Ability to become proficient on industry specific software and applications.


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


The wage for this position is based on market forces and the experience of the candidate.

This position includes ample opportunity for wage growth based on the successful candidate’s ability to achieve specific goals. The achievement of these goals will be determined by mutual agreement with management that the candidate can work independently, complete projects as assigned, and achieve established goals.

Successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to have medical insurance for themselves under the Company’s group health insurance program. The Company will provide for a portion of the monthly premium for candidate’s share of coverage. Voluntary dental plans are also available.

In addition, the successful candidate will be provided with $20,000 of term life insurance coverage under the Company’s group life insurance program. The Company will provide for complete premium coverage for the successful candidate.

In addition, the successful candidate will be eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) profit sharing program once the terms of eligibility, as stated in the Associate Handbook and relevant Company documents, are satisfied.
